Energy Healing
Reiki
Overview, Who Is It For, and What To Expect During Your Session
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. The word "Reiki" translates as "universal life energy." Practitioners channel this energy through their hands — either with gentle touch or hovering slightly above the body — to promote relaxation, release energetic blockages, and support the body's innate capacity for healing.
Reiki operates on the understanding that when life force energy flows freely through the body's energy centers (chakras) and pathways (meridians), wellbeing flourishes. Disruptions in this flow — caused by stress, trauma, or emotional suppression — can manifest as dis-ease. Reiki works to restore coherence at the energetic level, which in turn supports physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
Who is Reiki for?
Reiki is deeply gentle and is suitable for people of all ages and health conditions. It is sought by those experiencing stress, anxiety, chronic pain, illness recovery, grief, or spiritual disconnection — and equally by those who simply want to maintain energetic balance and deep rest.

What to expect in a Reiki session
You will lie comfortably, fully clothed, on a treatment table. Your practitioner will work through a sequence of hand positions over or on your body, channeling Reiki energy. Most clients feel warmth, tingling, or a profound sense of calm. Some drift into a meditative state or light sleep. Remote (distance) Reiki is equally effective and widely offered for virtual sessions.
Typical session length: 45–90 minutes
