Ancient & Earth Medicine
Ayurveda
Overview, Who Is It For, and What To Expect During Your Session
Ayurveda — "the science of life" in Sanskrit — is a 5,000-year-old system of holistic medicine originating in India. It is considered the oldest surviving complete medical system in the world and the mother of many healing traditions. Ayurveda understands each person as a unique combination of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, ether) expressed through three primary constitutions or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Health in Ayurveda is the dynamic balance of the doshas, mind, body, and soul. Imbalance arises from inappropriate diet, lifestyle, seasonal changes, emotional stress, and spiritual disconnection. Ayurvedic practitioners restore balance through personalized diet, lifestyle practices, herbs, body therapies, yoga, and meditation recommendations.
